Burmese Hillside
Gaur
The gaur is the most massive of wild cattle. The bulls can attain a shoulder height of up to two metres and weigh up to 1,000kg. It is highly endangered due to hunting and destruction of its forest habitat.
Thamin
The thamin is also known as the Burmese Eld's deer. This animal has very specialised habitat requirements. The loss of its habitat is causing its population to decline so rapidly that it is close to extinction.
