11 millionth visitor at Night Safari

The world’s first nocturnal wildlife park, Singapore’s Night Safari welcomed its 11 millionth visitor on 29 May 2007. Madam Hing Siew Ling, a 37-year old housewife from Malaysia and her family were the lucky visitors following the countdown that started in April when visitorship to the Night Safari exceeded the 10th million mark.

According to Ms Fanny Lai, Executive Director of Night Safari and Singapore Zoo, reaching the 11 millionth visitor in 13 years is a landmark achievement for Night Safari.

Over the years, the park has grown in terms of facilities, programmes and expertise. It has added a wider variety of flora, fauna and animals. Set in 40 hectares of secondary forest, it has over 1000 nocturnal animals representing 120 species and fragrant night blooms. Visitors who have been to the Night Safari are always awed by the free ranging animals and the magical journey of discovery at the park, with real life encounters with nocturnal animals as they emerge at night.

Night Safari will continue to strive to bring more educational and entertaining programmes, and also to heighten the awareness and importance of conservation actions.
